Black leather is usually what you get with the Nike Air Max Goadome, but this fall’s release is going with pony hair instead. Nike has covered just about the entire upper in the black material, from the toe right up to the ankle collar. You can see the longer fibers around the stitching and panel edges, giving the boot a shaggy look without changing its familiar shape or chunky sole.

The material runs across the toe, mudguard, side panels, tongue, and ankle collar. It has a slightly shaggy texture, with longer fibers sticking out around the stitching and panel edges. Black rope laces match the upper, while small white embroidered Swooshes appear near the heel and on the tongue. Gold Nike branding on the insoles adds another detail that’s mostly hidden when the shoes are being worn.

Aside from the pony hair, the Goadome keeps much of its original design. The thick black midsole still features visible Air cushioning along the sides, with ACG branding molded into the sole. Underneath is a rugged rubber outsole with deep, chunky traction lugs and additional ACG branding. The familiar boot-like shape remains intact, so most of the difference comes down to the material used across the upper.
