The Air Max Dolce is returning more than two decades after its original 2002 release. Even by early-2000s Nike standards, the slip-on was an unusual design, bringing a moc-toe shape together with visible Air cushioning and molded synthetic pieces.
Its name means “sweet” in Italian, a reference that lines up with the shoe’s traditional footwear influence. The raised toe seam and laceless construction give the Dolce the shape of a loafer, though the exposed heel Air unit keeps it from drifting too far into dress-shoe territory.
The timing of the comeback makes sense. Loafer-inspired sneakers, technical hybrids, and other awkward-looking models have found a much wider audience in recent years. The Air Max Dolce already had that language built into its original design, so there was little reason to overhaul it.
Brushed metallic silver covers most of the upper on this returning pair. Grey TPU wraps the forefoot, while black appears across the lining and sole. Visible Air cushioning remains under the heel.
The Nike Air Max Dolce “Metallic Silver” will release in Fall 2026 exclusively in women’s sizing. An exact release date has yet to be announced.
