Nike is continuing its work with HBCUs, and Clark Atlanta University looks to be getting its own Air Max 97 as part of what could be another wider school-focused collection. The first images show the classic runner covered in CAU colors, with school branding worked into the design.

Red, black, and grey run across the upper, with the Air Max 97’s layered side panels helping blend the colors together. Clark Atlanta details are easy to spot, including “Panthers” branding on the heel pull tabs and a CAU logo placed on the tongue.

The pair could also be an early look at what Nike has planned for the Air Max 97 heading into 2027. The model turns 30 that year, and Nike has already started showing other versions of the shoe, including a laceless design and another take on the familiar “Silver Bullet” look.

The Nike Air Max 97 “CAU Panthers” is expected to release during Holiday 2026 or early 2027 through Nike.com and select retailers. The pair will be available in men’s sizing for $190.
