With the upcoming “Solar Red” release, Nike is reversing the Air Max 95’s iconic gradient. Black-and-grey hues persist, however the gradient shifts in reverse of what’s typically found on the silhouette.

The dark shades are positioned higher on the upper, before fading into lighter grey panels towards the midsole. Solar Red accents are woven throughout the neutral palette on the lace loops, petite Swooshes, exposed Air cushions, and pieces of the outsole. White laces provide another pop of color on the otherwise dark silhouette.

Black mesh and suede construct most of the upper, with cutout layered panels on the sides embodying Sergio Lozano’ s musculoskeletal design. Nike Air branding pops up on the heels, and traditional Air Max tongues graphics round out the detailing.

This version also receives the oversized Big Bubble Air cushioning unit. Not only does it incorporate increased color on the ground, but it allows the silhouette to better fit the proportionality and stature of the original Air Max 95.
