Pictures released by Nike depict the Nike Air Max 90 “Football Blue” primarily in a muted, dark color palette. Most of the shoe consists of Iron Grey mesh and black leather, saving the Football Blue paint for the branding and trim details.

Iron Grey constructs the main mesh base which spans the toe box, tongue, and collar. The mesh has a slight blue tint to it that shines through under direct light. Sections of Light Smoke Grey mesh overlay the upper on the quarter panels and molded eyestays. Black takes up the rest of the upper with coloring for the Swoosh, leather mudguard, heel panel, midsole, and outsole.

Contrast is created through the construction of materials rather than large color blocking. The lower part of the upper is covered in tumbled leather. Textured mesh, smooth synthetic paneling, and ribbed TPU finishes shape the iconic layered appearance of the Air Max 90.

Football Blue frames the Swoosh and is used on the tongue label, heel branding, lateral “Air Max” badge, insole prints, and visible portion of the Air unit. Since the paint is used sparingly throughout the shoe, it leaves the overall appearance in a black-and-grey zone.

Release date for the Nike Air Max 90 “Football Blue” is set for Summer 2026 with a price tag of $145.
