Nike Revives The Air Max 2000 in “Triple Black”

Published on

The Nike Air Max 2000 is coming back for Fall 2026, and official retailer images now show the retro runner in a “Triple Black” colorway. Nearly every part of the shoe is finished in black, which makes its layered upper and bulky late-1990s shape easier to see.

Originally released through Nike’s Alpha Project, the Air Max 2000 came from a period when the brand was experimenting with more technical-looking performance footwear. A tight mesh base sits underneath long TPU overlays that wrap around the upper. The shoe also keeps its ribbed spine, reinforced toe, and the molded rubber piece positioned below the laces.

Visible Air cushioning returns in the heel, along with the sculpted midsole and rubber outsole. Nike also brought back the five-dot Alpha Project logo on the lateral side, a small detail that connects the retro to the original release.

The Nike Air Max 2000 “Triple Black” is expected to release during Fall 2026 through Nike and select retailers.
