The AIR MAX 1000 is joining Nike By You, giving people a chance to choose their own color combination for the 3D-printed Air Max model. There are 14 combinations available, built around two upper colors and seven options for the visible Air unit.

Created with Zellerfeld, the AIR MAX 1000 uses 3D printing across nearly the entire shoe while borrowing parts of its look from the original Air Max 1. The latest version has been updated with a softer, lighter printed mesh, while changes around the midsole give the Air unit more room to compress underfoot.

Black and Stone are the two choices for the upper. The Air unit can be done in Olive Aura, Racer Blue, Black, Team Orange, Volt, Metallic Silver, or Pink Spell. Some combinations keep the shoe fairly simple, while colors like Volt, Team Orange, and Pink Spell stand out much more against the molded upper.

Details from the Air Max 1 still show up throughout the design, particularly in the wavy lines and textured areas that reference the original mudguard. The outsole has been changed as well, with a revised shape and new lug pattern worked into the 3D-printed construction.

The Nike Air Max 1000 By You is now available through Nike By You. Availability will be limited to the United States.
