With the Air Max 1000 still fairly new, the 3D-printed model is already moving into its next round of updates with help from Zellerfeld. The next version is called the Air Max 1000.3, and it keeps the familiar one-piece shape while adjusting a few areas that affect how the shoe fits and wears.

The Air Max 1000 was created as a modern spin on the Air Max 1, though the two look almost nothing alike. Instead of using separate panels, stitching, and laces, Zellerfeld’s 3D-printing process forms nearly the entire shoe as one piece. The Air Max 1000.3 follows the earlier 1000.2 with another round of changes rather than a complete redesign.

Dressed in Pure Platinum, this pair sticks with a light grey finish from top to bottom. The printed upper shifts between smooth and more open textures depending on the area, with extra ventilation visible around the toe, collar, and heel. Molded Swooshes sit along the sides and near the toe, while Air branding is worked vertically into the back.

Most of the differences are found in the construction. Nike and Zellerfeld revised the upper to improve the fit and durability, while the outsole lugs have also been changed. It remains a laceless slip-on, with a wide opening and raised heel that make it easy to get on and off. A segmented tread pattern runs underneath and continues around the edges of the shoe.

The visible Air unit is one of the few details that breaks away from the Pure Platinum colorway. “AIRMAX 1000” branding appears across the window, while Future and Bowerman markings can be seen on the opposite side.

The Nike Air Max 1000.3 “Pure Platinum” releases in Fall 2026 through Nike and select retailers for $200.
