Back in 2003, Nike Sportswear released the Air Max 1 “Chili” in a White/Varsity Red-Medium Grey blocking. For 2023, 20 years later, the Tinker Hatfield-designed silhouette is releasing in a similar colorway.
Dressed in a White, University Red, Pure Platinum, and Black color scheme. This offering of the Nike Air Max 1 comes constructed in a mix of mesh, suede, and nubuck materials. Unlike the “Chili” release, these feature a much lighter shade of Grey used on the overlays while having a reverse tongue label in colors. Red bold Swooshes with matching Air bubbles, “Nike Air” branded heels atop a two-tone Black and White rubber sole completes the design.
Check out the official photos below, and look for the Nike Air Max 1 “Chili 2.0” to release on July 20th at select Nike Sportswear retailers and Nike.com. The retail price tag is set at $450 USD.
