Air Max Day 2022 will be celebrating the 35th Anniversary of the Air Max 1. For the occasion, Nike will be releasing plenty of special releases including this “Wabi-Sabi” Air Max 1.

This offering of the Nike Air Max 1 pays homage to the traditional Japanese aesthetics, wabi-sabi, which is centered on the acceptance of transience and imperfection. Dressed in earthy tones, it comes constructed in a canvas base with suede overlays. Other details includes “cracked” graphics on the midsoles and exposed stitching atop Gum rubber outsole. Paying homage to its 35th Anniversary, “XXXV” is stitched onto the lateral heel as well as stamped on the insoles with “3.26” tongue tag celebrating Air Max Day. Finishing off the design are Swoosh smiley on the heels, interchangeable tongue tags housed in special packaging.

Nike Air Max 1 Premium Wabi-Sabi Release Date

Look for the Nike Air Max 1 Premium “Wabi-Sabi” to release on March 26th exclusively in the Asia Pacific and Latin American regions. The retail price tag is set at $160 USD.

UPDATE 3/10: Nike reveals official photos of the “Wabi-Sabi” Air Max 1 for Air Max Day 2022. Revealed are Swoosh smiley heels, interchangeable tongue tags and special packaging. According to the Nike SNKRS app, this “Premium” colorway will release exclusively in the Asia Pacific and Latin American regions on March 26th.
