Nike Air Force 1 Low Luxe “Black” Gets A Monk Strap Style

Published on

Nike is taking the Air Force 1 Low in a more formal direction for Fall 2026. This Luxe edition comes dressed in premium black leather, but the real change is the monk strap-inspired closure that replaces the usual open-lace look.

A wide leather shroud covers the tongue and forefoot, attaching on the medial side and fastening near the lateral panel with two silver buckles. Matching black straps run through the hardware, giving the shoe a sharper, almost dress-shoe feel without completely losing the shape of the original Air Force 1.

Even the upper has received a thorough cleanup. Nike tones down on the layered paneling and exposed stitching, then trades the gigantic side Swoosh for a much smaller metallic silver variant up by the heel. It’s a subtle detail, but it compliments the buckle hardware and helps prevent the all-black build from appearing too flat.

Wearers can leave the shroud fastened or let it hang open along the side. Worn loose, it feels less formal and closer to the dangling strap look often seen on Air Force 1 Mid and High pairs.

The Nike Air Force 1 Low Luxe “Black” will release in Fall 2026 through Nike.com and select Nike Sportswear retailers online and in stores. Retail is set at $140.
