Nike is digging back into one of its stranger Air Force 1 experiments, bringing the Air Force 1 Low Foamposite Pro “Gym Red” back for Summer 2027.
First introduced in 2012, the model takes the shape of an Air Force 1 Low and rebuilds it with Foamposite Pro influence. That means the usual leather paneling is replaced by a molded Foamposite-style shell, giving the shoe a smoother, heavier look than a standard AF1.
The “Gym Red” colorway last released in June 2018 and keeps things bold with a bright red Foamposite shell covering the toe and side panels. Black takes care of the laces, neoprene tongue, collar, heel tab, pull tab, midsole, and outsole, while a glossy black Swoosh cuts through the side.
Foamposite details show up through the molded forefoot dimples and pearlized finish, keeping the design tied closely to the Foamposite Pro. The shoe still rides on Air Force 1 Air-Sole cushioning, so even with the molded upper and basketball-inspired build, it keeps part of the AF1 foundation intact.
