New retailer photos have revealed a New York-themed Nike Air Force 1 Low ’01 dressed in soft grey suede. The throwback design includes hidden Nike NYC branding behind the tongue, along with a hangtag inspired by the city’s MetroCard, which has since been phased out.
A MetroCard-inspired hangtag gives the pair its clearest connection to the city. The design replaces the familiar MTA logo and block lettering with an oversized Swoosh while keeping the look of the transit card recognizable. That detail also plays into the Air Force 1’s long history within New York sneaker culture without covering the shoe in obvious graphics.
Matching branding, tonal laces and variations of grey detail keep the upper subtle. A pink toned sole provides a slight departure from neutrals while softening the colorway underfoot.
The Nike Air Force 1 Low ’01 “MTA MetroCard” is expected to release during the Fall/Winter 2026 season through Nike.com and select retailers.
