Nike has often created Foamposite colorways inspired by Penny Hardaway’s career and teams. While Knicks-inspired pairs have been released, a new unreleased Nike Air Foamposite One Yankees Sample has recently surfaced.
This exclusive design, originally produced in 2019, pays homage to the iconic New York Yankees. The Foamposite upper features navy and white tones with sharpie-style colorblocking, referencing Penny Hardaway’s memorable use of a Sharpie marker to meet NBA uniform guidelines.
Grey leather panels wrap around the eyestays and heel, adding a clean contrast. White details on the laces, sockliner, and striped pull tabs tie the Yankees-inspired theme together. A black carbon fiber shank plate sits at the midfoot for performance support, while a grey and navy outsole rounds out the design.
Though this Yankees-themed Foamposite remains unreleased, the surfacing of this sample has fans hopeful that Nike may eventually make this special colorway available to the public.
