Nike Air Flightposite 3 Returns Spring 2027

Published on

Nike plans to reintroduce the Air Flightposite 3 this Spring 2027, a performance shoe pulled from its early 2000s catalog. Originally released in 2001, the shoe marks the third installment in the Flightposite series and has yet to receive a retro treatment until now.

The Flightposite 3, a creation of Eric Avar during Nike’s Alpha Project, came after the Flightposite One and Two, pushing the boundaries of basketball shoe design even further. Although it wasn’t initially a signature model, the sneaker still saw some play on the NBA courts early in the 2000s from players such as Kevin Garnett and Allan Houston. However, Montrezl Harrell recently revived the silhouette in 2019 donning a Metallic Gold pair.

This shoe has a strong statement design from both a structural and aesthetic standpoint. Molded Foamposite upper is used to create the foundation while holographic accents on the sides of the shoe give off an “eye” appeal. Practical performance touches include straps on the forefoot and ankle, a Dynamic-fit sleeve, strategic mesh overlays, Zoom Air cushioning, and carbon fiber shank.

While there were multiple colorways offered on initial drops, the Battlegrounds colorways remain some of the most popular. Midnight Navy, Metallic Gold, and Metallic Silver have been fan favorites. We expect three total colorways for the 2027 return, but more info is to follow.
