Nigel Sylvester is moving on to another chapter with Jordan Brand, and this time the Air Jordan 6 is reportedly getting the BMX rider’s personal touch. Expected in 2027, the upcoming collaboration takes its inspiration from Paperboy, the bicycle-based arcade game released by Atari Games in 1985.
The game follows a newspaper carrier riding through a neighborhood while dodging cars, pedestrians, and other obstacles along the route. Blue plays a major role in the original artwork, appearing on the rider’s clothing and bicycle, and that color is expected to carry over to Sylvester’s Air Jordan 6.
Early mock-ups show the shoe covered mostly in blue, with white appearing across the midsole and rubber outsole. A small Swoosh near the toe is also expected, bringing back a detail associated with the original Air Jordan 6 design. Since no official images have surfaced, the final release may differ from the early renderings now circulating online.
Branding details are also still unclear. “Bike Air” could appear somewhere on the shoe, although that has not been confirmed. Sylvester has used the phrase on past Jordan collaborations as a nod to his BMX background.
The project adds another model to his growing Jordan Brand catalog, which already includes work on the Air Jordan 1 Low OG, Air Jordan 4, and Air Jordan 4 RM. Those releases have regularly pulled from his career, personal history, and connection to cycling.
