The New Balance TL900 “Army Green” has a lot in common with hiking shoes, especially with its chunky black sole and suede upper. This version comes after the earlier all-olive pair, swapping much of that green for cream suede while keeping the shaggy olive details around the shoe.

Off-white panels run across the toe and sides, with olive suede lining the lace area and wrapping around the heel. Dark rope laces feature light flecks, while silver-colored hardware picks up the small N logo near the forefoot. Cream tongues and charcoal mesh around the collar keep the rest of the palette subdued.

The thick black cupsole accounts for much of the shoe’s bulk, meeting black overlays at the toe and heel. Underneath, rows of raised lugs sit inside a recessed tread pattern, with olive inserts adding a little color to the otherwise black outsole.
