The New Balance Numeric 770 revisits the popular CXT770, a cross-trainer loved by many in the 90’s. Now nearly 30 years later the CXT770 is reborn as a skate shoe while maintaining that retro aesthetic.

The upper is faithful to the original, consisting of smooth and tumbled perforated leather and TPU arms for support. There’s a double toe cap reinforcement for durability as well as hidden lace loops for optional protection. That’s a nice little detail that skaters will appreciate.

Underfoot the shoe has molded polyurethane insoles to provide soft landings, as well as an “Integrated Counter Reinforcer Footframe System” to keep you balanced. Internal straps ensure the tongue stays in place, which meets the bar set by modern skate shoes while also staying true to its cross-trainer origins.

The New Balance Numeric 770 releases September 15, 2025 for $125 via NewBalance.com and select skate shops.
