The New Balance Allerdale “Hazelnut” is back for Fall 2025, this time rendered in a sumptuous tumbled leather that accents its luxe vibe. The design embraces a more earth-toned aesthetic similar to the original but also dials back with some hiking inspired details for an outdoorsy attitude.

A translucent lugged outsole offers traction on the trail, while the D-ring eyelets and bespoke lacing method also lend the sneaker a utilitarian spirit. These minute elements take the “Hazelnut” beyond classic lifestyle footwear for a balanced silhouette with both street and subtle hiking design cues.

All in all, the drop furthers New Balance’s expansion into understated and sophisticated sneakers that look to offer hardy performance on the streets as well. This is a shoe that I like for its versatility; I can see it working with either jeans or technical outerwear and that makes it unique.
