New Balance has another 993 on the way from its Made in USA line, with the “Morel” colorway set for an August release. The shoe comes dressed in Morel, Timberwolf and Black, though most of what you see is a soft yellowish cream that runs across nearly the entire upper.

The usual 993 material mix is intact. Mesh covers the toe box and fills the openings along the sides, with hairy suede laid over the top. That suede wraps the toe, eyestays and heel and has a slightly uneven texture that stands out more in the close-up shots. Since the colors are so similar, most of the separation comes from the materials themselves.

White shows up on the laces and side “N” logos. There are also small reflective details worked into the upper, plus the usual “993” embroidery toward the lateral heel. Made in USA branding lands on the tongue, and the oval USA badge is stitched into the back.

The midsole shifts into Timberwolf, a slightly darker beige that works with the faded look of the upper. ABZORB cushioning remains underneath, while black Ndurance rubber shows around the toe, heel and bottom of the outsole. It’s easily the darkest part of the shoe.

The 993 has never needed much added to it, and this release doesn’t mess with the formula. It’s the familiar suede-and-mesh Made in USA build, just done almost entirely in light neutral shades.
