New Balance is bringing the 991v1 back in a Made in UK “Luxe Suede” colorway on July 16, 2026. The unisex release is priced at $280 and will be available through New Balance and select retailers.

The upper is almost entirely tan suede, which gives the shoe a fuller, rougher look than the mesh-heavy 991s most people are used to seeing. Dark brown laces sit against the lighter base, with white on the tongue label and midsole. Black and grey finish the outsole.

Nothing about the color blocking is complicated. Most of the appeal comes from the suede, which adds enough depth across the upper without needing extra branding or louder accents.

New Balance first released the 991 in 2001. It stayed in the Made in UK lineup for more than two decades before the 991v2 arrived in 2023, but the original has continued to return in smaller runs and material-driven updates.

The New Balance 991v1 “Luxe Suede” releases in July 2026, for $280. Pairs will be sold in stores and online through New Balance and select retailers.
