The New Balance 990v6 “Driftwood” isn’t flashy but that’s the point. This is an earthy update to the legendary Made in USA series.

The model is a made for fall weather thanks to swapping the v5’s suede mudguard and eyestay for premium nubuck. The leather underlays are in a custom olive-khaki while off-white mesh and the reflective “N” logo provide a pop of contrast.

While the previous pairs from the series played it safe with white and grey midsoles, this is one for all the natural tones. The midsole colors are a mix of beige and tan for an overall subdued but versatile look. That small but intentional adjustment makes this feel like an elevated design compared to some of the recent releases in the 990v6 series.
