2021 was the debut of the New Balance 2002R “Refined Future” collection – better known as the “Protection Pack”, which was one of the hottest releases of the year. For 2022, the Boston sportswear brand will be releasing more colorwys.
There will be three total New Balance 2002R color options, with one of the pairs dressed in the OG-styled “Steel Blue” makeup made famous on the 1300. The other sports a “Dark Blue” makeup, while the third comes in a vibrant Orange hue. Each features the signature deconstructed build in a mix of mesh and premium suede atop a two-tone N-Ergy cushioned sole.

UPDATE 9/21: Following their overseas release, Extra Butter has confirmed that will be releasing the “Refined Future” New Balance 2002R pack on September 29th exclusively in-store and online. A wider release is expected later this year.
UPDATE 3/10: German retailer Afew announces that the second “Refined Future” aka “Protection Pack”, which they’re calling the “Pig Suede” pack, will release April 1st. Stay tuned for more updates.
