The Air Jordan 1 is getting three colorways with New York’s Museum of Modern Art, something we haven’t seen from Nike’s work with MoMA before. The collection includes Black/Grey, Black/Orange, and Black/Purple, with the first look at the orange pair already giving us a pretty good idea of what to expect from the other two.

The Black/Orange pair has orange leather panels over a black base, with black Swooshes and matching laces. There’s also MoMA lettering near the lateral heel, which you can make out in the early photo. We haven’t gotten a look at the Grey or Purple versions yet, but both are expected to have a similar setup with their respective colors.

Jordan Brand is reportedly cutting back on the number of Air Jordan 1 High OG releases in 2027. We’ve been getting plenty of new colorways over the past few years, so the MoMA collection will be arriving during a year when fewer High OG pairs are expected.

Nike has been working with MoMA since 2017, and the two have released a few things sneaker collectors will probably remember. The black Off-White x Nike Air Force 1 was tied to the MoMA Design Store in 2018, and they also put out a collection of Nike socks in 2024.

The museum was involved with another Nike release in 2025 when the MoMA Design Store got the Air Max 95 OG “Reverse Neon” exclusively. That pair came from an early Sergio Lozano sketch of the Air Max 95. The upcoming Jordan 1 collection comes during the 10th anniversary year of Nike’s work with MoMA.

MoMA Air Jordan 1 Release Date

The MoMA x Air Jordan 1 High OG Collection is expected to release March 20, 2027, with all three colorways priced at $205 each. It’s still unknown which pairs will be exclusive to MoMA and whether all three will also release through Nike SNKRS.
