The debate has been going on for years, Who’s better Kobe or Jordan? Many can have their opinions but do opinions really matter? Before you debate on something of a matter this big, there is homework to be done.

Standing next to each other they are very similar in height and weight. You could go even deeper and say their style is very comparable to each other, from the fade-away, to the clutch game winning shots, you could put MJ and Kobe on the same plater. What if there was no Michael Jordan?, would there be a Kobe Bryant? A lot of people will always take today’s sports and put them above what actually made the sport relevant. We aren’t saying MJ is way better than Kobe but we can say MJ is and will always be the best player in the world. Kobe has earn his spot as one of the leagues best player and even one of the top 5 players to ever play the game, but to be the greatest; he has yet to prove that in our opinion.

Roland Lazenby, is currently working on a book for a tribute to Michael Jordan. He has sat down and picked the mind of the MJ and got his thoughts on the whole debate between him and Kobe. Below is a brief idea of what MJ said on the matter.

“Kobe’s ultimate competition is MJ. That’s why MJ watches him. MJ made people think what he was doing wasn’t human. Ditto the Kobester. I never said Kobe was better than MJ. MJ just told me Kobe’s the only one to have done the work, to deserve comparison.”

Unfortunately, the debate won’t stop until Kobe Bryant turns in his numbers and walks away from the game. But remember, check the stats, check what Kobe has done to what Mike has done and ask your self one simple question: “MJ changed the game, what has Kobe done?”
