Miami will be switching back to Nike when their deal expires with adidas. According to Miami Herald’s Barry Jackson the Hurricanes will be wearing Nike again in 2027. They are expected to sign a deal that will net them over 200 million dollars for 10 years. Miami was with Nike for almost 30 years until they switched to adidas in 2015.

The new contract is expected to give Miami more than $20 million in value each year. Roughly two-thirds will come through cash payments, while apparel and other parts of the agreement will make up the rest. Miami currently receives around $6.5 million annually in cash through its adidas deal, along with apparel.

adidas was given an opportunity to keep the Hurricanes and submitted another offer during negotiations. The brand did not match the terms put forward by Nike, however, clearing the way for Miami to make the switch once its current contract expires.

Miami and Nike already have plenty of history together. The Swoosh outfitted the school from 1987 until 2015, a run that included some of the biggest years in Hurricanes football. Miami left Nike for adidas in 2015 under a 12-year agreement that runs through June 30, 2027.

Nike will officially take over as Miami’s apparel partner in July 2027, bringing the Swoosh back to Hurricanes uniforms after a 12-year absence.
