Few collaborations feel as rooted in legacy as the Metallica x Dr. Martens Collection taking shape

Their first collab brings those worlds together, turning classic silhouettes into a tribute to live music history and the fans who built it. The project looks back to Metallica’s 1980s touring era while celebrating the “Fifth Members” who stayed loyal through every chapter.

At the center of it, the Metallica x Dr. Martens collection arrives in two directions. One leans heavily into archival artwork, using Pushead’s graphics from the 1986 Damage Inc. and 1988 Damaged Justice tours on the 1460 boot and 1461 shoe. What once lived on posters and tees now carries across premium leather, giving the footwear a raw, collectible feel.

Visually, the contrast stands out. The second offering strips everything back with a black-on-black 1460 inspired by The Black Album. Its a quieter approach.
