The Make-A-Wish Foundation and Nike are teaming up to make 16-year-old Rhome Simpkins, of Bakersfield, wishes come true by granting him to design his very own Air Jordan shoe.
Rhome was born with Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome. It is a rare x-linked recessive disease characterized by eczema, immune deficiency and low platelet count.
Before undergoing a very necessary bone marrow transplant, the Make-A-Wish Foundation will be flying him and his family to Nike’s headquarters in Beaverton, Ore., to start on his design session.
We’ll keep you updated with the story and a look at his designed when completed. Take a look at check out this year’s Nike Doernbecher Freestyle 2016 designers, click here.
