Make-A-Wish Foundation Teen Designing His Own Air Jordan

The Make-A-Wish Foundation and Nike are teaming up to make 16-year-old Rhome Simpkins, of Bakersfield, wishes come true by granting him to design his very own Air Jordan shoe.

Rhome was born with Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome. It is a rare x-linked recessive disease characterized by eczema, immune deficiency and low platelet count.

Before undergoing a very necessary bone marrow transplant, the Make-A-Wish Foundation will be flying him and his family to Nike’s headquarters in Beaverton, Ore., to start on his design session.
