Already revealed in a handful of colorways that have made their way into the hands of close friends and family members of the late Virgil Abloh, the Louis Vuitton x Nike Air Force 1 will be getting its first public launch thanks to a Sotheby’s auction.
A total of 200 pairs of the Louis Vuitton Air Force 1 are being made available for this auction in an exclusive colorway and in a range of sizes. The sneakers, entirely made in leather, are embellished with Louis Vuitton’s emblematic Monogram and Damier patterns with natural cowhide piping. Each pair will be sold with an Orange Louis Vuitton pilot case, that features Louis Vuitton’s classic S lock closure in White metal finishing and includes a luggage tag in the shape of the Nike Swoosh.
All proceeds from this auction will go towards the Virgil Abloh “POST MODERN” Scholarship Fund for Black fashion students.
The 200 pairs of the Louis Vuitton x Nike Air Force 1 will be auctioned off via sothebys.com starting on January 26th and ending on February 8th. Sizes range from 5 to 18.
A commercial launch of the Louis Vuitton Air Force 1 is expected to take place later this season exclusively through Louis Vuitton. The F&F colorways (Yellow, Blue, Purple, etc.) will not release to the public.
