LeBron James’ Game-Worn adidas Kobe 2 “USA Flag” PE Up For Auction

Published on

LeBron James’ game-worn adidas Kobe 2 “USA Flag” PE, a gift from Kobe Bryant, is now up for auction. This specific pair holds sentimental value as LeBron donned them in the 2002 NBA All-Star Game, where he secured a double-double with 36 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 assists during a match against Carmelo Anthony’s Oak Hill Academy.

These sneakers were born out of Kobe’s idea to commemorate September 11th, and he collaborated with Peter Moore, the original designer of the Air Jordan 1. The concept was to feature an American flag sublimation print on the shoes, paying homage to the lives lost in the tragedy. The original developer, Dan Fulton, shared insights on how the tribute unfolded, highlighting the unique design with a flag draped over it.

Initially, a limited run of 30 pairs, all in Kobe’s size 14, was produced. Bryant received six pairs, while the remaining went to brand executives and employees. The starting bid for this piece of basketball history is $45,000. Notably, these shoes were previously listed three years ago at a starting bid of $15,000, eventually selling for an impressive $156,000.

The auction, hosted on the Goldin website, will run until March 2nd. Don’t miss the chance to own a piece of iconic sports memorabilia. Bid now and secure your place in history!
