We all know that basketball takes a whole team to win, but for the first 48 minutes of Game 1, it looked like the LeBron James show as he almost willed his way to victory.
James scored 44 points which was three points shy of both Klay Thompson and Steph Curry combined with a total of 47 points. A hobbled but determined Kyrie Irving added 23 points for four quarters, which ended in a result of one of the greatest NBA Finals Game 1 we’ve witness in a long time.
And then overtime happen, and Irving went out with a left knee that has hampered him throughout the entire NBA Playoffs – which ended up being a season ending injury.
During overtime, a fatigued LeBron James and the Cavaliers scored just two points, and the chance to claim home-court advantage slipped away.
Without a healthy Irving and Love, does LeBron James have it in him to beat the Warriors and win the NBA 2015 Finals by himself? If so, would it be the biggest upset in NBA Finals history?
