Ronnie Fieg‘s latest collaboration in his steady partnership with ASICS, the Kith x ASICS World’s Fair Collection, is first arriving for the grand opening of Kith Chicago on October 4th. The collection continues Fieg’s ethos of using sneakers as a canvas for narrative storytelling, as the shoes along with the new flagship are connected to both New York and Chicago by the fact that they both hosted the World’s Fair.

The work on the collection started with 36 different samples from ASICS before whittling it down to eight pairs, according to Fieg, showcasing his level of care for detail that sneakerheads have come to expect from his storied career. Leaked preview photos have also revealed several colorways of the ASICS GEL-Lyte III, a GEL-Kayano 14, and a GEL-Lyte 3.1, each decked out in premium materials and steeped in specific references.

In a similar tradition to the Osaka-released New Balance collaboration for the opening of his Japan store, Fieg is keeping the custom of opening new Kith stores with an accompanying store exclusive sneaker. That, if there is one, will be the story detail that sneakerheads will pick up on, but each Kith store location will have its own tale to tell and custom drop to commemorate.

The collection will be fully released on the aforementioned date ahead of Kith’s full grand opening in Chicago, yet another opening for a flagship store as Kith continues its expansion across the United States. The collection is sure to generate serious hype from fans and collectors alike.
