Jordan Super.Fly 3 ‘Slam Dunk’ Detailed Look
The “Slam Dunk” pack pays tribute to artist Takehiko Inoue’s 31 volumed sports themed Japanese manga series named “Slam Dunk” created during the 1990s. If you don’t already know, Manga is a style of Japanese comic books and graphic novels. “Slam Dunk” is about a basketball team from ShAhoku High School and they wear Bulls-style uniforms and Air Jordans. The main character, Hanamichi Sakuragi, rocks the Air Jordan 6. They added the Jordan Brand Super.Fly 3’s to combine its performance along with the legacy of the Air Jordan 6 – highlighting past and present both in the product as well as the manga storyline.
Beginning with the upper most of it is made with the new Flight web system that is also found on the Air Jordan XX9’s. Designed onto the upper are new sketches from the “Slam Dunk” manga in a black and white colorway. You have black synthetic overlays fused for added structure and support on the heel and toe of the shoe as well as on both sides of the tongue and you have a red jumpman logo on the outer heel of the shoe.
The tongue is made of black and red mesh with a layer of white mesh visible from underneath. You have black webbed straps as your lace locks which wrap around your foot for superior lockdown. Theres a black lace strap with a grey stripe going down the middle. You have a dark grey or black Jumpman logo on the top of your tongue.
Your inside sock liner is red and it appears to have some type of inner sleeve or bootie. Your insoles are also red with a white jumpman logo on the heel. The heel of your upper is pretty basic. There’s a black pull tab with a grey stripe going down the middle at the top heel of your upper. And there is a ribbed pattern wrapping around the heel of the shoe.
Moving down to the midsole you have your red Flightplate that utilizes a Pebax moderator plate The words “Flightplate appear in white on the outer heel of the midsole. White compression-molded phylon wraps around the perimeter of the shoe except for the toe area. A nike zoom unit is placed in the inner forefront of your midsole. You have red translucent outsole which extends down from the toe of your midsole and it has a sonic wave tread pattern. There’s a white spade like design going from your midfoot down to the heel of your upper and at the center of that at the midfoot of your outsole is a grey area with a white jumpman logo.
