Aged paper might seem like an unusual reference for a sneaker, but it fits the weathered clothing Korean designer Jiyong Kim is known for. His second PUMA collaboration brings that same interest in fading and worn materials to the CELL Geo, with distressed uppers and frayed laces across two colorways.

Kim uses sunlight to bleach his garments, leaving colors uneven rather than giving every piece a uniform finish. On the JiyongKim x PUMA CELL Geo, the paper-like upper takes cues from the stains, dirt, and deterioration that develop over time. Aged fabrics and irregular surface textures carry that treatment throughout the shoe.

The CELL Geo’s angular construction remains easy to recognize beneath the distressed materials. Its separate CELL heel unit provides cushioning, while curved panels and partially concealed laces follow the shape of the upper. A light-toned edition will be available globally, with the black pair reserved for JiyongKim.

PUMA and JiyongKim will also hold a one-day exhibition at Arumjigi in Seoul on November 7, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The display pairs the collaboration with archival sneakers and aged materials at B1, 17 Hyoja-ro in Jongno-gu.

The JiyongKim x PUMA CELL Geo releases November 7 through PUMA.com, PUMA flagship stores, select stockists, and JiyongKim’s online store and Seoul flagship. A Japan-exclusive launch at GR8 follows November 14, alongside a dedicated pop-up.
