Hartcopy’s latest adidas BW Army project does not move far from the shoe’s German Army Trainer roots, and that seems to be the point. This second collaborative drop uses the BW Army Decon, giving the silhouette a softer, more stripped-back build while keeping the upper mostly free of branding. The only real interruption is Hartcopy’s red squiggly stitch on the lateral lace panel, a detail that reads almost like an edit mark left on the shoe.

“Crystal White” and “Halo Gold” make up the collection. The white pair is the more traditional of the two, with soft leather across the upper and off-white hits on the toe, laces, and heel. A gum outsole finishes it off in familiar BW Army fashion.

“Halo Gold” leans more tonal, wrapping the deconstructed shape in matte gold. It uses subtle color variations on the toe, tongue, heel and sole so it doesn’t appear too flat, with the red squiggle stitching providing the only hard contrast on the pair.
