Foot Locker Celebrates Air Max Day With New Nike Air Max 2090

Published on

It’s the year of our Lord 2020. And for anyone hoping for an improvement from 2019, better luck next year. Now you might think it’s too early to throw the whole year away, but it’s hard to imagine this year rebounding after the start its had. But there is something positive to look forward to, and Foot Locker is doing their best to grant us a reprieve.

Being from the Midwest, when I think of March I think of the end of winter and the beginning of spring. I think of losing that extra 60 minutes of sleep moving our clocks up an hour. I think of the volatile, bi-polar weather patterns we have in Michigan. Being a Pisces, I think of my birthday. But most importantly, I think of Air Max Day.

Never in the history of ever, has a brand successfully succeeded–(redundant right?)–in creating a promotional holiday centered around their product and have it feel like such a natural fit on everyone’s calendar. It’s like consumer nostalgia and corporate marketing had a baby. People literally go out of their way to buy Nike Air Max shoes just so they can participate in the online celebration of the day. They do this willfully, and cheerfully, anticipating the moment they can repeat it all again the following year.

Foot Locker wants to make sure that you are fully equipped to celebrate this spring season. Not only do they have a whole suite of Nike Air Max styles for you to choose from–a lot of which are on sale–BUT TODAY, they’re also releasing the newest addition to the Air Max family, the Nike Air Max 2090.

The Air Max 2090 is an updated, futuristic version of the Air Max 90. While this modern take of the iconic silhouette breathes new life into the line, there’s still enough design cues that link it back to its predecessor and gives it a familiar feel, such as the back heel tab, the medial and lateral sides of the upper, and the modified portion of the ridged midsole surrounding the heel Air unit.

The Nike Air Max 2090 debuts today, Thursday, March 26th, Air Max Day 2020. The retail price is set at $150 in a full run of unsex sizes, and $125 in kids’ sizes, on both FootLocker.com and on KidsFootLocker.com. Good luck, be safe, and celebrate this year’s Air Max Day in style.
