Detailed Look: Eminem x Carhartt x Air Jordan 4 “Black Chrome”

Published on

The Eminem x Carhartt x Air Jordan 4 “Black Chrome” is among the most exclusive sneakers in Jordan Brand’s history. Released in 2015, it perfectly combines Eminem’s artistry, Carhartt’s workwear legacy, and Jordan’s iconic sneaker design.

Originally, this collaboration was created for Eminem’s friends and family. However, 10 pairs were auctioned on eBay to benefit the Marshall Mathers Foundation. The auction raised $227,000, which supported Michigan State University’s Community Music School, providing music education to local students.

The sneaker’s design reflects Carhartt’s rugged style with its black canvas upper. Chrome eyelets provide a bold contrast, while a translucent outsole adds a modern touch. On the heel, Eminem’s reversed “E” logo and a hockey mask—a tribute to his Slim Shady persona—offer personalized details. Shady Records branding on the tongue completes the exclusive look.

This release demonstrates how sneakers can transcend fashion, blending philanthropy, culture, and personal storytelling. Collectors highly value the “Black Chrome” for its scarcity and meaningful backstory. Its exclusivity has cemented its status as a grail among sneaker enthusiasts.

Given the rarity of just 10 auction pairs and a few gifted to Eminem’s inner circle, resale prices have soared past $35,000 on platforms like StockX and private marketplaces. It ranks among the world’s most expensive sneakers, alongside the Nike Air MAG and Louis Vuitton x Nike Air Force 1.
