Nike has announced that Elliott Hill will step in as the new President and Chief Executive Officer, effective October 14, 2024. Hill will also join Nike’s Board of Directors and the Executive Committee.
Mark Parker, Executive Chairman of Nike, Inc., expressed his excitement about Hill’s return. Parker said, “Elliott’s leadership style, global experience, and deep industry knowledge make him the right choice. His passion for our brand, products, athletes, and employees aligns perfectly with the company’s future vision.” Parker has worked closely with Hill for more than 30 years and looks forward to supporting him during this leadership transition.
John Donahoe, the current President and CEO, will retire from his position on October 13. However, he will continue as an advisor to Nike through January 31, 2025, to ensure a smooth transition. Parker praised Donahoe’s leadership during his tenure, especially his guidance through the COVID-19 pandemic and his dedication to community investments.
Hill expressed his excitement to return, stating, “Nike has always been part of who I am. I am ready to lead the company into its next chapter.” With 32 years of experience, Hill is eager to reconnect with employees and partners while forging new relationships to drive the company forward. He emphasized his commitment to delivering bold and innovative products that will continue to captivate consumers.
During his career, Hill held top leadership roles in Europe and North America. Before his retirement in 2020, he was President of Consumer and Marketplace, leading Nike and Jordan Brand’s commercial and marketing operations. He helped grow the business to over $39 billion.
With a bright future ahead, Hill’s leadership will help Nike continue to thrive and innovate in the competitive market.
