The Doernbecher Air Jordan 7 will be this year’s Air Jordan model that will take part of the Nike Doernbecher Freestyle 2016 Collection.
Following last year’s Air Jordan 13, it’s now the Air Jordan 7 that will hold down the tradition as part of the Doernbecher Freestyle series.
This year’s Air Jordan 7 Doernbecher will be designed by Damien Phillips. Designing the Air Jordan 7 was a serious thrill for Damien, who is a huge Chicago Bulls fan. “When I found out, I was so excited, I was jumping all over the place,” he laughed.
His design features Red and Black to represent the Bulls’ team colors, as well as rock ‘n’ roll accents like a guitar pick on the laces and a heel tab that resembles a guitar neck. Flip the shoe over, and you’ll see Damien playing a power solo on the outsole. Damien says he hopes that Michael Jordan will want to rock his shoe; he also hopes it will encourage other kids with hemophilia to stay positive.

“My primary inspirations for the shoe were a guitar and Chicago’s basketball team. I had an amazing experience doing something I’ve never done before. It surprised me that I got such an amazing team and had so many options for a shoe. My favorite part of the shoe-making process was choosing the material. It positively impacted my life through meeting new people and getting me out in the world.”
