You wanted denim? Well, plot twist—FDMTL and Vans OTW just dropped denim in spirit only.

The new FDMTL Vans OTW Sashiko Collection reimagines the Half Cab 33 and Old Skool 36, swapping real denim for cotton/rPET knit. Think of it as traditional Japanese craftsmanship meets futuristic eco-nerd chic. And yes, it still slaps.

Even without the actual denim, the Sashiko-style patchwork stitching delivers serious handmade vibes. Both sneakers flex one-piece uppers, which is basically the sneaker version of wearing a jumpsuit to a wedding: unexpected, bold, and somehow it works. The Old Skool even features a stitched “Off The Wall” logo—subtle flex, major effect.

The Half Cab 33 keeps things cozy and mid-top, while the Old Skool 36 goes low-key with high style. The textures, colors, and asymmetry scream, “I thrift better than you,” but with a clean, wearable twist.

The FDMTL x Vans OTW Sashiko Collection drops May 30, 2025, exclusively via Vans online. Men’s sizing only (sorry, small feet), with retail set at $135 USD for the Old Skool and $140 USD for the Half Cab.
