Nike is digging back into the LeBron James archive for a release tied closely to Diana Taurasi and Phoenix.
The black and purple Nike LeBron 9 PE originally made for Taurasi is expected to make its retail debut during NBA All-Star Weekend in Phoenix. The colorway was one of several exclusive LeBron models Taurasi wore throughout her career, but this pair was never available to the public.
Black covers most of the shoe, while purple accents connect the look to Taurasi’s years with the Phoenix Mercury. The release comes after Phoenix retired her No. 3, adding another chapter to her long relationship with Nike and LeBron James’ signature line.
Taurasi regularly received special LeBron colorways during her playing days, many of which remained true player exclusives. This release will give fans their first chance to own one of the more recognizable pairs from that run.
It also brings the LeBron 9 back into the spotlight. Nike last reissued the silhouette in 2022, making this the first new LeBron 9 release in nearly five years.
