To celebrate the Detroit Vs Everybody adidas Originals collection celebrating the city, we launched a 3-day scavenger hunt around Detroit. In order to have a chance to win the grand prize, you had to collect all 3 pieces of the special medallion.

The chase kicked off with hints and then at 3:13pm every day Detroit Vs Everybody dropped the exact location on Instagram for Detroiters to go to at 6pm.

The Day 1 clue said to line up next to the man in the red hoodie. As the people stewed around The Spirit of Detroit, DvE Principal Tommey Walker walked out in a black jacket covering his hoodie. Then, he unzipped his coat, revealing that he was the first clue. The crowd swarmed in order to get their hands on the Day 1 “Detroit” medallion.

The Day 2 clue said to line up next to the woman in the DvE Adidas hockey jersey on a street corner. Participants met up at the cross streets, but there was a curveball. The girl was a block away near the hockey arena. The woman unzipped her jacket unveiling the hockey jersey and when people noticed, they all made a run for it to get their hands on the Day 2 “VS” medallion.

There were only 13 of the third and final medallion. The Day 3 clue said to come to Eastern Market and line up next to the person in the red hoodie holding the Adidas Top Ten shoe in their hand above their head. When participants arrive there were 3 people wearing a red hoodie with a shoe in their hands. As the 3 hoodie wearers roamed around, participants followed them. However, there was another layer. Tommey Walker then pulled up, let a kid wearing a red hoodie out with a shoe in his hand. The kid ran to a mural and held the shoe up, leading to all participants sprinting and eventually lining up next to the wall. It was chaos, but fortunately there were several security guards who kept order. Little did the participants know that one of the people wearing the red hoodie was the mural artist, Sydney James. Also, the kid holding the shoe up happened to be Sydney’s nephew Lamont, who happens to be the subject of the mural in the clue.

After the final winners were solidified, everyone walked to Eastern Market Shed 5 where the 313 Day ceremony was held. After settling in, the ceremony began. 13 participants, just 1 grand prize winner. One by one participants were randomly selected to open their special box for a chance at the grand prize. After 9 boxes were opened, finally the winner found the red medallion and was crowned the champion. The prize was revealed to be the Adidas Top Ten shoe, the entire apparel collection, and tickets to all 4 major sporting events in Detroit.

Tommey Walker thanked everyone for being a part of history and participating in the chase, supporting the release of the collection and coming to celebrate on 313 Day.
