Nike is allowing their rising NBA stars to design their own Air Max sneaker. Following at look at Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum’s Air Max 97, Sacramento Kings point guard De’Aaron Fox is set to release a special edition Air Max 1.
Dubbed, the “SWIPA” Nike Air Max 1, the shoe features two mismatched sneakers. The left comes in a combination of Red, Black and White with an iridescent Swoosh, while the other sports hits of Orange and Blue with a Light Purple Swoosh. Both feature Beige tongues with Fox’s logo, as well as mathematical equations on the insoles. Completing the design is Fox’s nickname, “SWIPA” stamped on both heels.
Nike Air Max 1 SWIPA Release Date
Look for the Nike Air Max 1 “SWIPA” to release on May 30th in limited quantities at select retailers and Nike.com. The retail price tag is set at $140 USD.

UPDATE: De’Aaron Fox’s Nike Air Max 1 is inspired by his interest in astronomy and features common colors among the planets represented through different sections of the shoe. The sockliner has equations inspired by the field of astrodynamics. Fox’s nickname, “Swipa,” is printed on the heel and his jersey number is on an eclipse on the tongue logo.
