Darius Acuff Jr. Drops His First Reebok Engine A PE

Published on

Darius Acuff Jr. is getting ready for his first NBA season with the Sacramento Kings, and Reebok has a special pair of Engine A sneakers for him. The former Arkansas star already has his own signature shoe, the Reebok Acuff 1, in the works, but that won’t be ready for his debut. Instead, he’s going back to the basketball shoe that originally made him want to sign with Reebok.

Acuff picked the Engine A for his first player-exclusive colorway because it was the first Reebok shoe he wore. He said he knew he wanted to be part of the brand after trying them on, so wearing the same model to start his NBA career made sense. Reebok has since introduced the Engine A 26, but Acuff wanted to stick with the original.

The shoes come covered mostly in red, a nod to his time playing for Arkansas. Black appears on parts of the branding and ERS cushioning, while his gothic-style “DA” logo sits on the tongue. It’s also an early look at the personal branding expected to appear on his upcoming Acuff 1 signature shoe.

The Darius Acuff Jr. x Reebok Engine A is available now in limited quantities through Reebok.com for $130. Acuff is also expected to wear the shoes during Sacramento’s season opener against the Los Angeles Clippers.
