Converse is moving Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s signature line in a more elevated direction with the SHAI 001 Premium, which will debut in an “Ink” colorway. Set to hit the court during Game 1 of the Western Conference First Round, the new pair gives the silhouette a cleaner and more refined look while keeping the performance-driven foundation that has defined the model from the start.

A monochromatic navy finish gives the SHAI 001 Premium “Ink” its sharpest visual statement. The upper is wrapped in natural leather, while the heel overlay follows with the same smooth material treatment for a more premium build than previous versions. Tonal branding and debossed logo hits keep the design understated, allowing the shape and texture of the shoe to do most of the work.

Performance remains central to the design despite the upgraded presentation. Converse equips the SHAI 001 Premium with a radial traction pattern for multidirectional movement, forefoot Zoom Air for responsive cushioning, and an over-lasted midsole that helps create a lower, more stable ride. That combination lines up well with the way Shai plays, relying on balance, control, and constant pace changes.

The Converse SHAI 001 Premium “Ink” is scheduled to release on May 14, 2026 through select basketball retailers, SNKRS, and Converse.com. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price tag is set at $150 USD.

With Shai expected to introduce the pair on court before launch, this colorway should give the model even more momentum heading into the postseason spotlight.
