Converse Launches Spring/Summer 2013 Con Collection

NORTH ANDOVER, MASS. (February 11, 2013) – Today, Converse Inc. announces the debut of its Spring 2013 CONS collection, including the new skateboarding collection featuring Nike Lunarlon technology, and modern updates to the iconic Pro Leather and the classic Star Player.

The new Spring 2013 CONS collection launches globally beginning February 2013.

SKATEBOARDING COLLECTION

As the Skateboarding Collection continues to push the limits as the pinnacle expression of technology and innovation for Converse, the Spring 2013 collection for the first time will feature Nike Lunarlon innovative technology combined with Converse’s form meets function design aesthetic. The Converse skateboarding collection gets an update with a drop-in Nike Lunarlon sock liner, molded to provide equal cushioning and resiliency to EVA at 50% of the weight.

This season, the Nike Lunarlon sock liner fused with Converse’s innovative traction rubber and vulcanized soles and Abrasion shields creates an advanced and authentic collection that speaks to the everyday skater’s energy, personality and genuine affinity to the sport. Styles are offered in abrasion-resistant suede, premium coated suede, and canvas.

CTAS Pro Skate

The CTAS Pro Skate, inspired by Converse Skateboarding Ambassador Sammy Baca, features Converse Skateboarding Abrasion Shield Canvas, creating four times more durability and a longer lasting material. The silhouette also features a molded Nike Lunarlon drop-in sock liner and a Converse All Star Traction Rubber outsole, as well as the Nevada state crest behind the tongue and the sock liner as a nod to Baca’s hometown. Offered in high and low-top versions. Available Colors: Denim/White and Black/White. Suggested Retail Price: $55 – $60

CT LS

The sycamore CT LS features abrasion resistant suede and is inspired by Converse Skateboarding Ambassador Tom Remillard, with design elements that represent his favorite local skate park in San Diego, CA. The CT LS in parchment draws inspiration from Julian Davidson’s love of heritage Converse colors and the Long Beach lifestyle. Also available in canvas. Available Colors: Sycamore and Parchment. Suggested Retail Price: $50 – $55

CTS

The CTS features a Nike Lunarlon drop-in sockliner, abrasion shield canvas, traction rubber canvas and embossed suede in a low-top. Available Colors: Fig/White/Black and Black/White. Suggested Retail Price: $55 – $60

KA-One Vulc

Converse Skateboarding Ambassador Kenny Anderson’s KA-One Vulc, an updated vulcanized version of the KA-One, is available in abrasion-resistant suede and canvas. The KA-One features Converse Skateboarding Traction Rubber outsole and a drop-in Nike Lunarlon sock liner added for lightweight, energy dispersion cushioning. Available Colors: Black/White/Blue, Nine Iron/White and Varsity Red/Ultramarine. Suggested Retail Price: $60

Trapasso Pro II

Converse Skateboarding Ambassador Nick Trapasso’s second signature sneaker, Trapasso Pro II, features an abrasion-resistant suede upper with a clean toe for durability. The Trapasso Pro II features a Nike Lunarlon drop-in sock liner, Converse Skateboarding Traction Rubber for a 70% increase in traction. Available Colors: Nine Iron/Black, Nine Iron/Black/White and Black/Fig/White. Suggested Retail Price: $60 – $70

CT XL Mid

With an extra-large Chuck Taylor All Star patch, the CT XL Mid features a rubber toecap for durability. Available Colors: Ultra/White/Black, Sand/White/Black, Black/White, Gray/White/Black and White/Black. Suggested Retail Price: $65

LIFESTYLE COLLECTION

Converse reinterprets the classic Pro Leather that debuted back in 1976 and was worn on the feet of some of the most iconic basketball players in history, including Julius “Dr. J” Erving. Today, the Pro Leather continues to reflect a vibe of creative self-expression and street culture alive in every city around the globe. For Spring 13, Converse introduces the Pro Leather Nautical inspired by the traditional boat shoe. Washed canvas materials are used to give it a summer look, comfortable liners provide a sporty feel while vulcanized soles contribute to a consumer’s active lifestyle.

Pro Leather Vulc Mid

Pro Leather Vulc Mid is available in suede, leather, and washed canvas in high and low-top versions. Colorways: Blithe, Black, White, Navy, Viridian Green, White/Varsity Red, Vaporous Gray/Limestone, Lollipop, Runner Yellow, Black/White, Red/Cloud Gray and White/Black. Pro Leather Naut Mid

Pro Leather Naut Mid is a new silhouette and takes inspiration from a traditional boat shoe with nautical detailing, including a mock toe execution. A brick pattern on the toe bumper is a subtle nod to the original Pro Leather. Colorways: Blue/Black/Milk, Parchment/Lollipop/Milk and Black/Viridian. Suggested Retail Price: $60

Star Player Rise

The Star Player Rise is available in both high and low-top versions in leather. Drawing from the original All Star Canvas Basketball silhouette, the Star Player Rise Hi features the classic Star Chevron. Colorways: Black/Varsity Red/White, White/Varsity Red/Black, Black/Royal Lilac/Blue Radiance, Athletic Navy/Blithe/White, Deep Ultramarine/Bright Blue/Runner Yellow, Phaeton Gray/Black/White, Varsity Red/Black/White, White/Black/Varsity Red and Black/Jester Red/Luster Gold.
