One of 2013′ biggest releases, the Converse 1st String x Maison Martin Margiela collaboration took a totally unique idea and executed it across some of the legendary sneaker manufacturers best loved silhouettes.
Back again for Spring / Summer 2014, the iconic Belgian designers namesake house has taken on the Chuck Taylor 1970s Hi and the Jack Purcell Jack Ox on once again, literally utilising them as a canvas, hand painting each shoe individually in clean white, creating a transient, minimal white coating.
Intended to create a distressed aesthetic and a finish absolutely unique to each shoe, this white paint is design to flake off, over time gradually revealing the shoe beneath.
A fascinating approach to the art of collaboration and one of the most highly anticipated footwear releases of 2014, the latest round of Converse 1st String x Maison Martin Margiela is set to release on May 23rd, 2014 at END.
