Nike has just revealed that Colin Kaepernick is the face to their “Just Do It” campaign, which was surprising as not everyone knew he was still under contract with Nike this entire time.
According to ESPN’s Darren Rovell, “Nike had been paying Colin Kaepernick all along, waiting for the right moment. That moment is now, as he becomes the face of the company’s 30th anniversary of the “Just Do It” campaign.”
The image used is a close up of Kaepernick’s face with text reading, “Believe in something. Even if it means sacrificing everything.”
Other athletes that will be included in the 30th Anniversary campaign will include LeBron James, Odell Beckham Jr., Serena Williams and others.
While the NFL season kicks off this Thursday, September 6th, Kaepernick remains a free agent.
