Where To Buy The Concepts x New Balance 1000 “Míle”

Published on

The CNCPTS x New Balance 1000 “Míle” takes inspiration from rare currency, specifically the 1890 $1000 Treasury Note, known as “The Grand Watermelon” due to its distinct zero design. The sneaker’s green and hot pink colorway reflects the note’s aesthetic, with the pink symbolizing the red seal that enhances its rarity and value. Additionally, the design draws from a Chicago bank heist where dye packs were used to mark stolen bills, mirroring the theme of money tainted by security measures.

Originally released in 1999, the New Balance 1000 features a futuristic silhouette, now reimagined with inverted mesh and overlays, ABZORB cushioning, and a Stability Web midfoot shank for performance and style. The green color scheme also pays homage to Chicago’s St. Patrick’s Day tradition of dyeing the river green, a celebration that dates back to 1962.
