Devin Booker’s Michigan roots are once again showing up in his signature Nike line, this time through one of the classic cars in his personal collection.
The latest Chevy x Nike Book 2 takes inspiration from Booker’s 1959 Chevrolet Impala convertible, better known as “Pretty Penny.” The car is finished in a copper-like paint job, and that same look carries over to the sneaker with a glossy Metallic Red Bronze patent leather upper.
Chevrolet details are worked into the design as well. The brand’s crossed flags appear on the heel, while a metallic “V” logo on the tongue gives the shoe another nod to the vintage Impala.
Booker has been a longtime Chevy fan and has built up a collection of classic cars he calls “The Library.” For him, the collaboration also connects back to growing up in Michigan, where Detroit’s automotive history has always been close by.
The “Metallic Red Bronze” pair continues Booker’s partnership with Chevrolet after two Chevy-themed Book 1 releases arrived last year. This time, the collaboration moves over to the Book 2 with “Pretty Penny” serving as the main inspiration.
